Roadmap/TODO for KDE4
libsyndication
FeedService, Akonadi port
Internal Browser
Ideas
- Bloglines/Newsgator support for the backend
- better integration into Konqueror (subscription/plugin)
- Synchronization with an online reader (may be Google Reader).
- Search feeds (like smart feeds in feedreader or search channels in feeddemon) which contain only news matching particular keywords would be very useful, especially if you want
- Use tags/folksonomy instead of folders/taxonomy for organizing feeds
- Have a way to view all feeds marked "important" at once.
- Select different timezones for each feed.
- allow synchronisation of read feeds between readers (i use akregator on my laptop & desktop)
- sync subscribed feeds (some simple ssh/ftp/webdav upload of opml files and automagic download)
- html export of feeds
- funky display: use timeline to show posts
- cluster posts by topic / suggest similar unread posts
- devs: start blogging :)
- Add the ability to add old articles to a single archive, where they don't clutter the new feeds you are getting
- add option to automatically download and cache <link>-ed pages for offline mode (many news sites only provide the title/link of/to their article but not the article itself via rss, so the old kde3-akregator offline mode is pretty much useless in this case)
